VERTEBRATES.

Mammals and birds are vertebrates. They have bones inside their bodies. 



 WHAT DO ANIMALS EAT?

Herbivores eat plants.
Carnivores eat meat.
Omnivores eat meat and plants.

MAMMALS.

Mammals have hair or fur and drink their mother´s milk.
Most mammals have four legs.
Mammals breathe with their lungs.
Mammals have bones inside their bodies. They are vertebrates.










BIRDS. 

Birds have two legs, two wings and a beak.
Birds have feathers.
Most birds can fly.
Birds are vertebrates.
Birds lay eggs.

MAKING PIZZA DOUGH

SCIENCE YEAR 2. 

Estos días le hemos estado dando vueltas al tema del trigo y la harina, y al final nos ha salido una pizza. Cada uno ha elaborado su propia masa mezclando los ingredientes y amasando vigorosamente. Una experiencia "deliciosa".



 





Para continuar practicando es casa, aquí tenéis la receta:

PIZZA DOUGH RECIPE:

Stir
Flour
Stretch

Knead
Sprinkle








Ingredients (4-6 pizzas):
Pizza flour: 1 Kg
Warm water: 510 cl.
Salt: 3 teaspoon.
Oil: 12 tablespoons

Directions:
1.    Wash your hands.
2.    Mix ingredients in the bowl.
3. Knead until you get a ball (2 min).
4. Sprinkle some flour on the counter. Knead for 10 minutes until gets smooth.
5. Sprinkle some flour into the bowl and keep it in covered with plastic wrap or a towel. 
Let it rest for a minimum of 30 minutes.  
6. Sprinkle some flour and stretch the dough.
7. Preheat the oven to 250º and cook for 8-10 minutes.

Cerrando la Unit 1, muy vivos.

Hello! Este año en tercero estamos haciendo grandes progresos con nuestra segunda lengua, invirtiendo tiempo, esfuerzo y muchas risas en aprender English de la manera más divertida.

En Science hemos terminado la Unit 1 sobre los seres vivos con una protagonista muy especial: The Sea Anemone, esta criatura fascinante que nos ha servido para ver los procesos vitales desde otro punto de vista. Hemos visto estos documentales totalmente recomendables:

BONES AND MUSCLES

SCIENCE.

Los chicos y chicas de 2º tuvieron oportunidad la semana pasada de observar unos corazones reales en el aula. Elegimos el de el cerdo, que por su tamaño es similar al humano. Pudimos apreciar los conductos por los que entra y sale la sangre que es bombeada por todo el cuerpo. Así como la flexibilidad y elasticidad de este músculo. 

También trajimos unos pulmones de cordero para comprender mejor el funcionamiento de la respiración. A pesar de su tamaño moderado, los pulmones crecieron enormemente cuando introdujimos un tubo en la tráquea y soplamos en su interior.  




Un compañero fiel ha sido nuestro amigo "Mr. Skeleton", que nos ha acompañado estos días para mostrarnos las articulaciones, así como la forma, tamaño y función de los huesos. 

Nos hemos estado preguntando: ¿Por qué tenemos huesos las personas? ¿Por qué son duros y rígidos? ¿Qué función tiene el cráneo con respecto al cerebro? ¿Las costillas con respecto a los pulmones y corazón? ¿Dónde tenemos músculos? ¿Para qué sirven los músculos? ¿Para qué sirven órganos como el cerebro, los pulmones y el corazón?
